Recognised as the oldest cruise line in the world, P&O Cruises’ history can be traced back to as early as 1837 when Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company started a passenger and mail service from the UK to Spain and Portugal.
Founded in Southampton, they began taking British passengers to foreign destinations in the 1840s. Today, they pride themselves on their long history and British heritage, providing excellent customer service with traditional cruising. The ships sail from Southampton throughout the year, as well as some sailings from the Caribbean in the winter months. Most of the cruises are around 14 nights in duration. However, each year its ships offer a host of shorter mini-breaks of two to seven nights.
