Galileo’s Bar

Galileo’s Bar is strategically placed to serve both the Prestige Lounge and adjacent casino. The bar’s ceiling is a canvas displaying a contemporary masterpiece styled like an oil painting, framed by fretted metal detailing.

The base of the bar features fluted elements, and the bold, striped floor highlights the bar’s footprint, creating a focal point for the Starlight Atrium; it is the place for guests to indulge in complimentary premium beverages that come as standard with a Regent sailing.

From the bar, views of the spiral staircases extend back into the Starlight Atrium on both port and starboard sides. The walls, clad in a limestone texture, are adorned with sconces designed to resemble jewellery, adding a touch of glamour.

Galileo’s Bar is a bright star in the heart of the ship. Plush seats circle a polished marble counter crowned by shelves of sparkling crystal bottles. The bar’s ceiling is a canvas displaying a contemporary masterpiece styled like an oil painting, capturing your gaze. Reception

The reception area, also on deck 5, features pleated leather panels and a light fixture crafted from handblown glass and ceramic pearls. From the lifts, looking back towards Galileo’s Bar, walls are framed with paneling and artwork, creating a traditional yet modern aesthetic.

Based on the travels of Executive Chef Kelly in Morocco and Turkey, this cruise ship cooking class explores the trending culinary traditions and recipes of two ancient and revered cuisines. Learn the basics of tagine cookery and gain an appreciation for how the foods of these two great countries have influenced modern world gastronomy. Learn how to make nut milks and preserved lemons – prized in the Arabesque region and around the world. These cuisines are a favourite amongst our chefs, and the recipes are beyond delicious.

ANYTIME BRUNCH FAVOURITES

Whether celebrating the weekend with a group of friends, spending Sunday watching your favourite sports team or gathering the family for the holidays, brunch is always a great meal for casual, comforting and delicious dishes. Brunch is also a meal we want to host effortlessly, so our chefs have assembled their favorite crowd-pleasing recipes that make brunch a breeze to host. Not a meal to be served without spectacular drinks, this culinary class also features favourite mid-day libations.

BEYOND PATAGONIAN DELICIOUSNESS

The culinary world has its eyes on the cuisine of the Patagonia region. Regarded as the hot new cuisine, chefs have travelled to these remote parts to learn the secrets of Argentine grilling, as well as Chilean roasting and baking. Attend this cook-out class that features delicious and hearty dishes that you will definitely want to make at home to impress your friends. No meal in Patagonia is complete without wine, so a special focus will be made on sampling and pairing the region’s varietals.

BOUNTY OF THE SEA

Fish is something we often order when dining out, but rarely feel comfortable making at home. In this class technique-driven class, master the basics of fish cookery: sauté and grill, deep poach, shallow poach, curing, baking, and healthy pan fry. Your Chef Instructor shares personal tips for purchasing fish from your local fish monger and adding more variety to your favourite fish choices.

EPICURIAN SAFARI

Embark on a culinary safari around the diverse countries of Africa. Enjoy mastering dishes from Morocco, such as tagine and b’stilla. Then head south and learn the secrets of mouth-watering grilled meats from South Africa and Namibia. Like all great safaris, this adventure begins with a delicious and artisan-created gin and tonic.

FIESTA ON THE HIGH SEAS

If you love Mexican food, but are reluctant to cook it at home, then this class is for you! Taking inspiration from Spanish tapas, this class provides a robust menu for a tasty Mexican snacking party, including a lesson on how to make the perfect Mexican cocktails.

This class was designed in collaboration with Canyon Ranch® with a focus on healthy eating. LA TECHNIQUE FRANCAISE

As the cuisine against which all others are compared, this class is designed around the pillars of classic French culinary technique. Learn the difference between French bistro and haute cuisine as you explore the various regional cuisines of France. Steeped in the fundamentals this class focuses on classic techniques designed to elevate your kitchen skills at home. Sample two French wines and learn the art of pairing French food and wine.

MASTER OF FIRE, HEAT & GRILL

Mastering the skill of cooking with high heat — whether on a grill or in a sauté pan — is at the core of this popular cruise ship cooking class. From achieving the perfect sear marks on a rib eye to bringing forth the flavour-enhancing char of a grilled flatbread, your Chef Instructor teaches techniques for perfect high heat cooking every time. Also learn how to use a digital thermometer, achieving internal cooking temperatures and the pillars of perfect protein cookery.

MASTERING KNIFE SKILLS

Regent Seven Seas Cruises® partnered with Zwilling Company, the makers of the chef-favorite J.A. Henckels knives, to develop one of our top guest-requested classes: Mastering Knife Skills. You’ll get a chef’s look at a complete pantry of knives and enjoy the chance to try out a few chef knives to discover the best option for you. You’ll also learn how to sharpen and maintain this essential kitchen tool, practice various knife cuts and discover how to safely use the mandolin slicer. Our chefs have collected their favourite recipes from Finland, Iceland and Norway to create this class that matches culinary delights to the extraordinary sight of the Northern Lights. In recent years, the culinary world has followed these trending cuisines as many of the world’s most revered chefs fuse traditional recipes with innovative ingredients and cooking methods. A highlight of the class is our signature sparkling cocktail celebrating the auroras.

PASTA PASTA PASTA

This class is a celebration of the mouthwatering mainstay dish of Italian cuisine — pasta. Pasta is traditionally served for lunch or at dinner as the second course, or secondi, in most Italian homes. Learn the fundamentals of making this dish in a traditional way, from dry and fresh pasta to pasta cookery and favourite sauces, and impress your friends and family with this new skill when you return home.

Most chefs will confess that the secret to finishing most dishes is the sauce — sometimes taking years to achieve. Modern Spanish chefs have transformed traditional dishes through molecular gastronomy while maintaining a reverence for traditional tapas and dishes like Valencian paella. Our Chef Instructors are frequently asked about their personal favourite dishes that they enjoy making at home. YAYA’S GREEK FEAST

Greeks are famous for their home-cooked, savory and generously portioned meals with family gathered — singing, dancing and eating! Greek recipes are passed down from Yaya (grandmother) by showing rather than writing down recipes. So, we recreated those hands-on recipes from our favorite yayas from Santorini, Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, and Athens for this popular cooking class. Using Cellular at Sea

Regent Seven Seas Cruises® offers Cellular at Sea service onboard for those who prefer to use their mobile phone plans. This satellite-based service activates approximately six nautical miles from shore and remains active while at sea. Simply turn off Airplane Mode to access voice, text, and light data services. Once in port, your phone will switch to local cellular networks.

Cellular service and plan options may vary by carrier. Please check with your provider prior to boarding to confirm availability, rates, and compatibility for your cruise itinerary.

Age Restrictions

Infants must be six months of age as of the first day of the cruise. For voyages that have three or more consecutive days at sea, infants must be at least one year of age as of the first day of the cruise. Guests traveling with a young infant that does not meet the infant policy will be denied boarding. No refunds or other compensation shall be due from Regent Seven Seas Cruises to anyone as a result of the denial of boarding to an underage infant or any accompanying guests. Based on SOLAS requirements Regent Seven Seas Cruises cannot and will not make any exceptions to allow infants on any of their cruises which do not meet the minimum one year of age requirement. No waivers will be accepted. Please do not enquire about making any exceptions, as all requests will be denied. Any guest under the age of 18 must be accompanied by and occupy the same suite as an adult 18 years or older. Regent Seven Seas Cruises does not provide for the care, entertainment or supervision of children. Guests under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the spa or fitness facilities, even if supervised by an adult. Special promotional rates are available for children on select sailings. To be eligible, the child must be under the age of 18.

Laundry

All guests will now benefit from FREE Valet Laundry Service during their cruise. Enjoy the luxury and convenience of freshly washed, carefully pressed and folded laundry picked up and delivered to your suite throughout your voyage.

Medical Services

Each ship has a licensed and registered doctor and nurse for professional and emergency services, which are available at customary charges. The ships’ medical centres are designed to provide medical care for certain temporary illnesses and accidents, and are not intended or capable of providing on-going treatment of pre-existing medical conditions. For guests requiring oxygen equipment, an oxygen concentrator is the only form of oxygen equipment allowed aboard ship, and must be provided by the guest. Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ wheelchairs on board are for emergency purposes only.

Dress Code

Daytime Dress Code (until 6 p.m.)

• Resort style clothing (including shorts, warm-up suits, jeans, and sneakers) is acceptable in all social spaces.
• Bare feet are acceptable only on the Pool Deck.
• Bathing suits, while acceptable at the Pool Bar and Grill, are not considered appropriate in any indoor venue.

Evening Dress Code (after 6 p.m.) – Elegant Casual

• Skirts, slacks, or refined denim that is not torn or distressed with blouse or sweater, pant suit or dress for ladies.
• Slacks, or refined denim that is not torn or distressed and collared shirt for gentlemen. Jackets are optional.
• Dress sneakers that are clean, in good condition and in a neutral or classic color are permitted.
• Guests may also opt for a more formal choice of clothing including gowns and cocktail dresses for ladies, tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits with tie for gentlemen.
• T-shirts, baseball caps, shorts, athletic shoes, flip flops and bathrobes are not considered appropriate in any social spaces after 6pm.

Relaxed Casual (evening prior to debarkation)

On the last night of the voyage, the dress code for dinner is relaxed to allow guests the option to be as comfortable as they wish as we realize that on the night prior to disembarkation, guests may need to pack their luggage early due to morning flights.

Smoking Policy

For the comfort and safety of all of our Guests, smoking is not permitted in any enclosed dining area, certain public venues, elevators, the Theatre, and all suites and balconies, and is only permitted in specific designated smoking areas. The use of electronic cigarettes is allowed within designated smoking areas only.

Cigarette smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the outdoor pool area and the following public rooms:

• Seven Seas Splendor: Connoisseur Club, Pool area (designated area opposite side of the Pool Bar)
• Seven Seas Explorer: Connoisseur Club, Pool area (designated area opposite side of the Pool Bar)
• Seven Seas Voyager: Connoisseur Club, Horizon Lounge (outdoor one side designated area), Pool area (designated area opposite side of the Pool Bar)
• Seven Seas Mariner: Connoisseur Club, Horizon Lounge (outdoor one side designated area), Pool area (designated area opposite side of the Pool Bar)
• Seven Seas Navigator: Galileo’s (outdoor one side designated area), Pool area (designated area opposite side of the Pool Bar)

Cigar Smoking is only permitted in the Connoisseur Club on applicable ships and the designated area on the opposite side of the Pool Bar.

Pipe smoking is only permitted in the Connoisseur Club. Pipe smoking in open deck areas is considered an extreme fire hazard and is not permitted.

Failure to comply with the above smoking policy will result in guests being asked to leave the ship at their expense, without refund or credit for the unused portion of their cruise.

Alcohol Policy

The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages will be limited to guests aged 21 years or older. However, with the exception of Hawaii, Alaska and New England voyages not leaving U.S. territorial waters, guests between the ages of 18 through 20 may purchase and personally consume wine and beer only while on board and with the consent of an accompanying parent. Authorization will be given only when the accompanying parent completes the Young Adult Alcoholic Beverage Waiver form. This form can be obtained and completed at the Reception Desk upon embarkation. While sailing on select international voyages, guests 18 years or older are permitted to consume alcoholic beverages without having to complete the Young Adult Alcoholic Beverage Waiver form. Guests are kindly reminded to consume alcohol in moderation. Regent Seven Seas Cruises reserves the right to prohibit and retain all liquor brought aboard the ship.

Special Dietary Requirements

Please advise Regent Seven Seas Cruises of any special dietary requirements you may have 120 days prior to sailing for voyages embarking in the US and 150 days for all other voyages, by sending an e-mail to specialrequests@rssc.com. General dietary needs such as low salt or low cholesterol foods can be satisfied onboard the ship just by speaking with the dining wait staff.

All frozen kosher prepackaged meals are provided by Borenstein Caterers Incorporated. This New York-based company has catered kosher meals for more than 60 years and works under the supervision of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America (the OU). The menu selection includes an assortment of breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes, with appetisers, soups, side dishes and desserts to choose from, each presented in plastic containers and double wrapped. Additionally, all bread is Pas Yisroel and all dairy products are Cholov Yisroel.

For those guests who are not strictly kosher and would like our chefs to prepare their meals, we have limited quantities of kosher proteins such as veal rack, ribeye steak, lamb rack, turkey breast, whole chicken, and fresh or frozen fish available on board. Please note that the preparation of these proteins will not be according to the rules of kashrut.

We are pleased to serve guests kosher meals, both prepackaged and fresh, exclusively in our elegant Compass Rose restaurant. Once on board, please contact the maître d’ of Compass Rose to make dining arrangements.
