With Cunard’s stunning new ship, the Queen Anne, docked in Southampton, I couldn’t resist the chance to hop aboard and see what this elegant addition to the fleet has to offer. Whether you’re a seasoned cruiser or simply curious for a sneak peek, I’m here to share an inside look at what makes the Queen Anne so special…

Cunard claims that the Queen Anne offers “a chance to sail the world in unparalleled comfort,” and although she remained docked in Southampton during my visit, the moment I stepped onboard, I was enveloped by a sense of luxury and elegance that truly set the tone for my day ahead.

Dining in Style

I’m sure anyone who’s ever been on a cruise has made a beeline for the culinary offerings (or is that just me?!) Aboard the Queen Anne, you’re truly spoilt for choice when it comes to food — from casual bites to refined dining experiences, there’s something to satisfy every craving.

I enjoyed a three-course meal in the beautiful Britannia dining room. Surrounded by opulent décor, crisp white tablecloths, and the grandeur of the expansive space, I enjoyed a meal where each course somehow topped the last — a true treat from start to finish.  I would highly recommend the coconut and passionfruit key lime pie which was absolutely heavenly!

If I’d had any room left (sadly, I didn’t!), there were still plenty of other dining experiences I would’ve loved to try.

Onboard the Queen Anne, you can quite literally eat your way around the world: Aji Wa promises a refined Japanese culinary journey, Aranya showcases bold and innovative Indian flavours, and Tramonto offers a taste of Italy with its Mediterranean-inspired favourites. For something more relaxed, the Artisans’ Food Hall creates a vibrant, market-style atmosphere with global cuisines all under one roof. When it comes to dining, you’re truly spoilt for choice.

Curtains Up at Sea

Tearing myself away from the seemingly endless dining options, I was keen to explore what else the Queen Anne had to offer — because yes, there really is more to cruising than just incredible food!

As a big fan of the theatre, I felt right at home in the ship’s very own Royal Court Theatre. Sinking into a comfy seat, you are invited to listen to guest speakers during the day or become immersed in a West End quality show in the evening. It is the perfect place to unwind. The seats were ridiculously spacious and insanely comfortable! I could easily imagine myself sinking in and enjoying one of the incredible shows. 

Recharge, Rejuvenate, Refresh

Before I drifted off in one of those plush theatre chairs, I figured it might be the perfect moment to check out the spa on board –  especially since I was already feeling utterly relaxed!

The moment I stepped into the spacious Marell Wellness and Beauty Spa, I knew I’d never want to leave. As soon as I entered, a wave of calm instantly washed over me — this place absolutely radiated tranquility!

This onboard spa offers an endless array of choices to suit every mood and need. From the ultra-relaxing heated beds to the weightless, warm embrace of the heated pool. From the unique pink Himalayan salt sauna (which I was dying to try!) to the soothing cool room, ideal for unwinding after a sun-soaked day. 

Pure bliss! 

But to my surprise, the opportunities for relaxation do not end there. As I wandered into the next room — the Marell Wellness and Beauty Salon — I was instantly drawn in by the lineup of unique, must-try treatments.

The offerings range from the ancient healing practice of cupping to state-of-the-art microneedling and biotech facials, each promising its own kind of rejuvenation. But what truly caught my attention was the exclusive cryo-body therapy — a futuristic treatment unlike anything I’d ever encountered. It has certainly shot straight to the top of my must-try list.

If all this isn’t enough for you, Queen Annealso boasts a fully equipped gym, complete with a dedicated spin class studio, and a stunning wellness studio where you can dive into yoga, pilates, and mindfulness meditation. This ship truly has an incredible selection of fitness and relaxation options — everything you need to feel recharged, rejuvenated and refreshed!

A Toast to Timeless Charm

Next, I decided to explore the ship’s impressive array of bars and lounges. With a total of 9 different spots to choose from, there’s truly something for every taste—whether you’re in the mood for a laid-back drink or a lively night out! 

The Commodore Club truly stole the show for me. Inspired by the legendary Cunard commodores who have helmed the fleet over the years, this bar exudes a captivating nautical charm.

Perusing the menu, I can tell you that the selection of expertly crafted cocktails available makes for a difficult choice, with each one sounding more tempting than the last. I could easily picture myself nestled in this elegant – almost magical setting—sipping on a perfectly mixed drink, gazing out through the panoramic windows, and soaking in the soothing live music that adds to the serene atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and every moment feels extraordinary.

Effortless Living, Wherever You Stay

What is it like to stay onboard the Queen Anne? I had the incredible opportunity to tour the various suites and rooms aboard this ship, and I have to say, nothing comes close to the sheer luxury and elegance of the Queen and Princess Suites!

These spaces truly offer a sanctuary of comfort and sophistication. If I could, I’d move in in a heartbeat! Every detail is meticulously crafted, from the elegant decor to the luxurious flourishes, creating an environment that feels like your own private world on the sea. Whether you’re setting sail to new destinations or simply soaking in the tranquility of your suite, Queen Anne promises a journey of absolute elegance and refinement.

To sum my first impressions up, I would say that the Queen Anne is nothing short of a floating masterpiece, offering everything you could possibly want—and more—on your next adventure at sea.

From decadent dining and world-class entertainment to rejuvenating spa treatments and a bar scene that’ll make you feel like you’re living in a James Bond movie, this ship truly has it all. Whether you’re indulging in luxury suites, exploring wellness options, or simply sipping cocktails while watching the waves roll by, there’s no shortage of ways to pamper yourself. And I can honestly say that, Queen Anne makes sure you feel like royalty no matter your needs.

Honestly, if I could bring a suitcase and move aboard tomorrow, I wouldn’t hesitate! It’s the kind of place where, once you step on board, you might never want to leave… and if you do, you’ll likely start planning your return before the ship even sets sail.
